Mottura Champions® C3D is the Platinum Series – maximum security system that converts a europrofile-cylinder lock to the 3DKEY system without replacing the lock. This kit is the KEY/ADJUSTABLE THUMB-TURN PROVISION configuration with DF18.
An integrated security system, not just a cylinder
C3D architecture: The kit combines three Mottura elements: the internal cylinder assembly, a special external Defender® and the external 3DKEY coded body. The key therefore does not operate through a conventional exposed cylinder keyway.
Configuration: DF18 Defender® adjustable by ring nut with solid high-strength HRC 53 steel escutcheon (65 × 90 mm). 50 mm diameter, 6.5 mm adjustment, M6 fixing at 26/38 mm centres.
3DKEY technology
Key: 3DKEY key with 20 mm hexagonal-profile shank and 3 coded surfaces.
Coding: 9 pins, 2 desmodromic tracks and a patented guide system for 6 rotating pins, free to rotate and springless.
Anti-decoding: False anti-probing notches on the pins and a very high number of possible combinations make manipulation extremely difficult while retaining smooth, quiet operation.
Anti-drill protection: Body and rotor incorporate protection devices against drilling.
Anti-bumping / anti-picking: Designed to resist percussion attacks and manipulation with picking tools.
Anti-tracing: Protection against key tracing or impression techniques intended to reproduce the coding.
Controlled break / anti-snap: The cylinder is designed to break at a specific point under a mechanical attack, helping prevent removal of the complete assembly.
Cam: 30° off-centred rest position.
Certification: C3D is ICIM certified; Champions® europrofile cylinders are certified to UNI EN 1303.
Included Defender®
Version: DF18 Defender® adjustable by ring nut with solid high-strength HRC 53 steel escutcheon (65 × 90 mm). 50 mm diameter, 6.5 mm adjustment, M6 fixing at 26/38 mm centres.
External protection: The Defender® physically protects the system from the outside. C3D offers Basic, spring-adjustable and ring-nut-adjustable versions, with sheet-metal or high-strength steel escutcheons depending on model.

Package and key duplication
Package contents: Complete C3D cylinder assembly with any specified spacers, Defender® for the selected configuration, 3DKEY coded body, ownership card, 5 keys, installation instructions and fixing screws.
Factory sealed: The 5 keys and ownership card are factory sealed.
Protected and controlled duplication: Duplicates are manufactured exclusively by Mottura through the Mottura Club network. The owner presents the ownership card and an original key; new keys are made by Mottura and returned to the centre in a sealed envelope.
Additional keys: Additional keys can be specified beyond the standard set; when ordered with the kit they are supplied with the original set under Mottura procedures.
C3D glossary
3DKEY: Mottura system using a three-surface coded key, desmodromic tracks and guided rotating pins.
Desmodromic track: A mechanical track on the key that positively guides the rotating elements of the coding system.
Picking: Attempt to decode and operate the system using picks or manipulation tools.
Bumping: Percussion technique intended to force coding elements into an opening position.
Tracing: Key tracing/impression technique intended to reconstruct the key coding.
Defender®: Armoured protection fixed to the lock to shield the locking system against attacks from outside.
